Crossroads Crisis Center offers victims a variety of services including Economic Empowerment. The purpose of this service is to teach victims to manage their own finances. Advocates work with victims during direct individual sessions, they learn how to budget their incomes, gain financial independence, and how to accomplish monetary goals they set for themselves. Victims will be introduced to balancing a checking account, responsible saving techniques, the importance of good credit scores, and how to overcome financial hardships they may have encountered due to their situations.
Economic empowerment reduces the victims reliance on their abusers and will strengthen their independence, thus reducing the burden they carry.
